These eight problems should be paid attention to when using closed cooling tower

How to ensure the high efficiency and low energy consumption operation in the process of using the closed cooling tower, it is necessary to know some matters needing attention in use. Usually, users will be more concerned about the use environment, configuration, fluid compatibility, spray system requirements, water quality, capacity, anti-freezing and other issues of the closed cooling tower, while ignoring some details, but in fact, this may be the key to affect the operation of the equipment. Therefore, we should pay attention to the following eight problems when using closed cooling towers:

One. Requirements for the operating environment of closed cooling towers
1. Should avoid acidic exhaust, explosive dust, serious soot, excess water vapor places;
2. Put it next to the building and keep enough distance from the air inlet (0.5-3M, depending on the model);
3. If it is placed in the well wall, it should be alert to the heat discharge failure caused by the hot and humid air reflux. In special environment, the ventilation device can be considered.

Two, closed cooling tower piping problems
1. Pipe distribution and pump valve should be installed below the running water level of the cooling tower to prevent overflow and air inhalation;
2, considering the location of the equipment, there should be enough pump head, should consider the pressure loss along the way and cooling coil pressure loss;
3, fluid cooling interface flange pressure design is 1Mpa, all pipes should consider hanger or support;
4. Pipe welding scar should be cleaned up to avoid blockage in operation.

Three, fully consider the compatibility of the fluid
The fluid (gas) to be cooled in the closed cooling tower must be compatible with the cooling coil; otherwise, it will lead to corrosion of the coil. For example, refrigerant ammonia is incompatible with copper pipes, salt water is incompatible with carbon steel pipes and copper pipes.

Four, closed cooling tower capacity control
1. For multiple operating closed cooling towers (evaporative cooling), the number of operating towers can be changed;
2. For the closed cooling tower with multiple fans, the number of fans can be changed;
3. Change the fan's running speed or frequency conversion control;
4. Vary the amount of spray.

Five. Requirements for spray system of closed cooling tower
With the operation of the closed cooling tower (evaporative cooling), part of the water evaporates and the minerals and other impurities in the water are left and accumulated in the tank. Therefore, it is necessary to check the water quality regularly and clean the sewage regularly, so as to better control the water quality and prevent scaling. The cleaning of the sink is generally recommended 1 times a week in summer and 1 times two weeks in winter;
Spray water quality requirements: refer to GB50050-95 industrial circulating cooling water treatment design specifications, water quality is particularly poor areas, should consider purification (softening) treatment, dosing treatment, the tank is recommended to use stainless steel.
Spray system antifreezing should consider one of the following two methods:
(1) Set up indoor insulation water tank (as shown in the picture on the right). The water tank has enough capacity, and all the spray water can be collected back into the water tank for insulation and preservation when shut down.
(2) Set up a heater in the spray tank, generally using immersion type electric heater (in the water absorption position of the spray pump); Drain the spray water when the system stops running.

Six, closed cooling tower exhaust and fluid closed system operation
Copper tube as a cooling coil can be considered fully closed or semi-closed; The steel pipe as a cooling coil must be fully closed in operation. The gas in the pipe can be installed at the high point of the pipeline. When the gas pressure reaches the set value, the valve opens and the gas is automatically discharged.
As an evaporative cooling condenser system, it should be noted that the existence of non-condensing gas in the system will significantly reduce the heat transfer effect of evaporative cooling, resulting in high condensing pressure. Therefore, air operation must be often carried out, especially in the cryogenic system where the inspiratory pressure of the refrigerator is negative pressure. When the condensing pressure is obviously high, the rapid direct exhaust method can be used to close all the pipeline valves connected with the evaporative cooling, open the vent valve and do not separate through the air separator, and release part of the refrigerant and air mixture until the pressure drops to the normal value.

Seven, closed cooling tower to add water
The circulating water of the closed system shall meet the requirements of the production process for water quality, and shall adopt softened water, brine removal or condensate water, etc.

Eight. Anti-freezing problem of cooling coil of closed cooling tower
1, add antifreeze: When the user's local low environment dry bulb temperature (air temperature) is -10℃, 20-30% high content of antifreeze should be added, to the actual non-freezing freezing for accuracy, user flexible grasp.
2, before shutdown (long-term use), use compressed air to dry the water in the cooler: first discharge the water in the cooler, and then drive the compressed air into the vent hole, and remove the residual water from the drain.
3, electric heating treatment: if the ambient temperature is only about 0℃, you can consider adding electric heaters or other heat sources on the pipeline or circulating water tank.

Additional note
1, when the equipment is not used for a long time, please discharge clean water in the spray tank, and discharge clean water in the spray pump body.
2, when the equipment is not used for a long time, please discharge clean water in the stainless steel tank, and discharge clean water in the body of the main circulation pump.
3. It is necessary to consider whether the added chemical substances are compatible with the intermediate frequency power supply and connecting pipes.
Only in the process of using closed cooling tower, pay attention to the above problems, in order to give play to the performance advantages of the equipment, further improve the work efficiency, to ensure its efficient operation.
